The Underlying Intent

Most organizations start with good intent. Over time, a gap emerges between what leaders intend, what systems optimize for, and the outcomes they create.

That gap is not new. What is new is the speed at which AI is widening it, and the stakes of getting it wrong. Organizations are adopting AI faster than they are redesigning the systems that govern how it gets used.

As leaders navigate rapid change, opportunities for candid peer learning and deeper reflection are increasingly rare. The conversations that matter most are rarely happening in public.

The Underlying Intent exists to create the conditions for those conversations. Its bias is foresight, not hindsight. It reads the gap while there is still time to correct it, rather than explaining it after the fact. The goal is not certainty. The goal is clarity.

The lens behind the platform was not drawn on a whiteboard. Its founder once set out to scale a business with a clear goal held in his head, but never written down or decomposed. Two years later, with parts built and no outcome to show, the gap traced back to its origin: an intent never articulated precisely enough for any system to be designed against it.
